I went for a run this morning and I experienced exactly what you described , even after taking a cool shower and I dried off , the sweat was still dripping from my fore head , back , etc.. what do you recommend at this point of recovery? should I be eating or drinking anything in particular after my run?
@eduardosg21 You will improve your conditioning and there for raise your heart rates ability to burn fat. Meaning you will burn fat at a higher heart rate.

I do HIIT 2 or 3 times a week, and then long duration cardio 2 or 3 times (in addition to weight training). This combo has me leaner than any other time in my life.

@BodyPerformanceTV Thanks for replying! Yes, I believed that helped a lot. I haven’t breast fed in over 2 yrs. It was when I got down to the last 12 lbs a yr ago, the real stubborn areas like my hips and thighs. I think it could have been my diet change and portion control, that helped! I’m a 26 yr old mom. I had put on about 56lbs during my pregnancy. I’ve got a resting heart rate of 62(bpm). I weigh 121 lbs now. I’m a fan of the paleo diet. I’ve only ever done cardio workouts 4 times a week for 1hr1/2. I’ve noticed a few times that resting or having a 30 - 40 minute nap during the day actually helped me lose the weight. Is that possible?

ummm it was a couple years ago, but it took me at least 6 months if not more. I dont know if your doing it for yourself, youll loose a lot of water in the 1st few days, and then not loose anything at all for somewhere around 3 weeks so just keep that in mind so you dont get discouraged. But even after the 3 weeks you might not see it, but people will start telling you!!!

I went from 286 to 180 by running 40 mins everyday, eating egg whites, and oatmeal. I was lifting like crazy, but not gaining an ounce of muscle, and I think running so hard was just killing it. I was getting stronger so I guess the muscle was becoming more efficient without gaining size. Once I stopped running everyday, I started gaining more muscle, without changing my diet at all. Basically once your muscle glycogen is depleted, the body wont hesitate to eat your muscle for energy.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that your body can only utilize fat when you are at a lower heart rate. Thats why the fat burning zone is effective at about 60% of max. If your much higher, you depleted all your free glucose, and muscle glycogen, and your fat doesnt get converted fast enough to keep up with the demand.
When you deplete all your muscle glycogen your body really replenishes that more % from braking down muscle than fat because its easier for the body.
